Weekly Connect From: Dermot Cowhey dermot.cowhey@limerickdiocese.org 14th March, 2022: Dear Chaplains/RE Teachers,
Lent 2022: The diocese is providing four opportunities which you might like to avail of to nourish and inspire you as you journey through Lent.
We are inviting you to journey with us this Lent. The pastoral outreach team (Fr Chris, Aoife, Rose, Dermot, Michael along with Sr Betty, Sr Phyllis and Sharon) have put together a programme to support you throughout Lent, this includes daily thoughts, images, reflections and prayers with a different theme each week. These are posted daily on our Diocesan Facebook page; I want to reassure you that you do not need to have a Facebook account to access these resources. Our Facebook page is set up so that it is accessible to people who are not on Facebook; you can access our Facebook page on this link: https://www.facebook.com/dioceseoflimerick. Be sure to check in every day. We will have an introductory video at the start of each week explaining the theme, each day at 7am we will post an image with prayers, food for thought and/or ideas for action. Fr Chris will then host a review of the week each Sunday evening at 8:30pm live on Facebook where we can chat and share our experiences and learning. Again, to remind you, you do not need to subscribe to Facebook to be able to access these resources and events. Fr Chris explains everything in this video if you would like to know more: https://fb.watch/bwt2KoKwbU/
Aoife and Betty are showing 3 films in the Diocesan Centre on 3 Saturday evenings, starting this Saturday 5th March evening at 7pm. You will need to register for these films so we can manage numbers and catering. I have attached a poster (Attachment 1). You can register at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Enviro-LentenFilms If you want to get sense of the films here are links to their trailers: Here is a trailer for the ‘The Human Element’; https://youtu.be/k34FhplukXQ Here is a trailer for ‘My Octopus Teacher’: https://youtu.be/3s0LTDhqe5A Here is a trailer for ‘Living the Change’: https://youtu.be/x3d3rl6id_c
Sr Betty Baker has kindly compiled prayers of the faithful resources for Lent. These include prayers of the Faithful from First Sunday of Lent to Corpus Christi and for International Women's Day (8th March), Mother's day (27th March), Earth Day (22 April). I attached them to last week’s Weekly Connect. If you missed them, please contact me directly. I hope that you will be able to avail of these opportunities.
